Lunch instead of brunch?

We're having a bit of trouble finding places that serve breakfast and bloodys on Saturdays.

We know there are lots more options on Sundays...but neither one of us fancies those 'all you can eat' buffets. Too much food.

And besides, Saturdays are a better lounge and linger day in my opinion...

So next time we hope to it will be warm and sunny enough for an outside table and we'll probably 'do lunch'.

But where to go??

The last time I went out for bloodys and an "early" lunch, we hit up the Badger Bowl for a post-wedding Sunday drink 'n dine. I can't claim that I've got a refined palate when it comes to a bloody mary, but they went down well and combined with french fries made the badness go away.

Hi R. It was nice meeting you this last weekend at the Avenue. I was thinking about your quest, I think you might need two categories: one for where you get served the best Bloody Mary and two, for where you can make the best Bloody Mary. I was talking to a girl at work and she said to try Heather's in Rockdale outside Cambridge on BB. Although she is not sure if they have Sat. Bloody Mary's and it might be a build your own. Also Krogville in Krogville and Hardheads in Columbus has been mentioned!
Good luck!

I saw your article in the paper:) very nice! my friend and I are always out on the hunt for the best bloody. On the weekends, try the Black Bear in Cottage Grove, or The Silver Eagle bar and grill in Monona. The silver Eagle has a bloody mary bar with a lot of fixings... my favorite place to go on the weekends.
